Street food is a ready to eat food or drinks sold around the city in different vendors in some public places.It is good source of food in a cheap price thus gains alot of popularity among young Nepali citizens.It is mostly sold in food booth or in some sort of food carts. These types of street foods vendors are mostly located around places where people hang out more often. It gives people librety to choose between different foods in a reasonable price and fills up your tummy without aching your budget. This is basically an economic alternative for your breakfast,lunch or even dinner.

10) Panipuris : Last but not the least Panipuri is a common street snack in several regions of the Indian subcontinent.
It consists of a round, hollow puri, fried crisp and filled with a mixture of flavored water (commonly known as imli pani), taramidnichutney, chilli chaat masala, potato, onion and chickpeas.
It was then introduced to Nepal then it was a instant hearthrobe . Common food among teenagers this food is surely one to seek for. Like most of the street food these are also sold in stalls. Mutiple thousands of stalls are kept around the capital Kathmandu.

9)Laping: If there's one food thats climbing the list fast is laping. Laping is a spicy cold mung bean noodle dish in Tibetan and Nepalese cuisine . It is a street food. It can be eaten with red pepper chili, cilantro and green onion sauce. The noodles have a slippery texture and are served with a soy sauce gravy. It is traditionally a summer food.Especially founf in Boudha and Sawambhu. This hot food has been able to win the heart's of many Nepali people.



8)Chaat: Chat is a savory snack, typically served as a hors d'oeuvre at road-side tracks from stalls or food carts in India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. With its origins in Uttar Pradesh chaat has become immensely popular in the rest of South Asia. Sold along with the famous panipuri's it fulfils the taste need of people who want t try out something new and somthing other than panipuris.




7)Kati roll : This has to be one of the newest food coming up and living up the expectations. A kati roll is a street-food dish originating from Kolkata, India. In its original form, it is a skewer-roasted kebab wrapped in a roti, although over the years many variants have evolved all of which now go under the generic name of kati roll. Today, mostly any wrap containing a filling enfolded in an Indian flatbread is called a kati roll. In native Bengali, the word Kati roughly translates to “Stick”, referring to how they were originally made. In Bengal though, the delicacy is simply known as ROLL. Kati Rolls normally contain coriander chutney, egg and chicken but the types may vary.
Since its arrival there's been lots of stalls and vendors selling these. It's defenately gonna make your face smile and your tummy full.



6)Thukpa : Not really a street food but how could i possibly miss out the great thukpa . Thukpa is a Tibetan noodle soup, which originated in the eastern part of Tibet and northern part of Nepal. Amdo thukpa (especially thenthuk) is a famous variant among Tibetan people and himalayan people of Nepal. The dish became popular in various part of Nepal, Bhutan, and the states of Sikkim, Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh in northeast India. It is also popular in the Ladakh region and the state of Himachal Pradesh. The food is widely available in these regions.
This food is one to be enjoyed in those cold weathered days definetly makes its place on the list.



5) Choila : Not as as much famous as the other food among the list . But it cannot be excluded for the list Choila  is a typical Newari dish that consists of spiced grilled buffalo meat. Though the dish is traditionally popular with water buffalo meat, nowadays mutton, chicken & duck meat are also being used. Usually eaten with rice flakes (Chiura), this dish is typically very spicy, hot & mouth watering. It si one of the must try foods of Nepal.



4)JUJU Dhau : One more belief that's popular among people is that its a sin if you dont have a juju dhau while youre on The Bahaktapur Durbar Saquare ! Juju Dhau is a special type of light yellowish yogurt which will make you drooling for it. This sweet desert is defenitely one that you wouldn't want to miss. Most popularly sold around Bhaktapur, but now it is available around many places as it has gained some popularity because of it's unique taste and its sweetness.
People form many places of Nepal go to Bhaktapur with the sol;e purpose of trying out this special yogurt.



3) Sausages : It is one of the most common food sold around stalls. On a cool winter and in the evening time it is something that youd wanna have along with your freindsA sausage is a cylindrical meat product usually made from ground meat, often pork, beef along with salt, spices and other flavourings, and breadcrumbs, with a skin around it. Typically, a sausage is formed in a casing traditionally made from intestine, but sometimes from synthetic materials. Sausages that are sold uncooked are usually cooked in many ways, including pan-frying, broiling and barbecuing. Some sausages are cooked during processing and the casing may then be removed.




2)Sekuwa : When you're with your friend's chilling on those summer nights with a chilled Beer, what better than this right? Well think again , If there's anything thats gonna make you're time better is a bit of sekuwa to enjoy with your friend's. Sekuwa is a meat roasted in a natural wood/log fire in a real traditional Nepalese country style. It is the traditional snacks for peoples who often drink with Tongba or Raksi .At first while the meat is still in its raw stage is mixed with natural herbs and spices and other necessary ingredients. Sekuwa could be of pork, lamb, goat or chicken, or a mixture. Sekuwa is very popular in Nepal, especially in the Dharan and Kathmandu. Dharan and Tarahara small towns in Sunsari District of Koshi State in the Eastern Nepal could be called as the sekuwa capitals of Nepal.



1) MOMO : It is believed that its a sin if you dont eat MOMO while you're in Nepal !  The dish is believed to be of Tibetan origin and since then has spread to other neighboring countries with the influx of Tibetan. Since this dish was initially popular among the Newar community of the Kathmandu of Nepal one prevalent belief is that traveling Newar Merchants brought the recipe and the name momo from Tibet where the Newar Merchants use go to trade. They modified the seasonings of the dish with available ingredients, such as water buffalo.


Momo is a type of steamed dumpling with some form of filling. Momo has become a traditional delicacy in Nepal, Tibet and among Nepalese/Tibetan communities. It is one of the most popular fast foods in Nepal. Momos have also spread to other countries like U.S.A  and UK .
